Uganda has the second youngest population in the world with 72% under the age of 30 years old. One in five is infected with HIV and one in 10 is an orphan. There is little or no familial guidance. The need for mentorship is greater than ever!

For the past 10 years, we have been addressing these needs in Uganda through life skills training in high schools - distributing curriculum and providing mentorship and training; university fellowships – providing discipleship and leadership training and empowering leaders; community outreach – supporting a village school by providing materials and resources. From the time we began ministry in Uganda in 2007, it has been in our hearts to build a state-of-the-art youth center for Uganda’s underprivileged and vulnerable youth - a centralized place where we can fulfill Living Water’s vision: raising up the next generation leaders.

PHASE 1

Purchasing the land. In late 2016 the Lord crossed our paths with a developer who owns 1000 acres in a thriving community, just outside the capital city next to a brand new highway. God granted us favor with this developer and he offered to sell us 5 acres for only $35,000! We stepped out in faith and paid a $10,000 deposit. Then, through generous early investors we were able to raise an additional $15,000 for our second land payment due August 2017. After making this second land payment, we were able to start to developing the land. Our final payment was due August 2018 and through our faithful supporters we were able to complete the purchase of the land early as a testimony unto the Lord!

Intramural sports and a multi-purpose building. Now that the land purchase is completed, we have set our sites on the development of a soccer field, basketball courts and a multi-purpose building. We will have intramural programs for soccer and basketball leagues, creating a buzz in the community and draw out youth. These organized leagues will be used to evangelize and disciple youth. The multi-purpose building will be used to host church services, discipleship and leadership classes and rented for paid functions. The estimated cost for this is $200,000. Currently, we have $70,000 raised.
